With almost three decades of law enforcement experience, primarily at Collin County Sheriff's Office, I've honed skills in court operations support and stress tolerance. Distinguished for integrity and leading high-profile case security, I excel in strategic planning and empathetic team leadership, achieving top-class academy graduation and pioneering tactical and training advancements.
During my five years as a bailiff, I have been assigned to the Auxiliary Court in Collin County. My responsibilities have been to assist every District Court with any matter they need to refer to our court to handle. My primary focus has been to schedule and process any criminal pleas referred to our court. In addition to handling criminal matters, I have also gained experience in handling protective orders, restraining orders, and any other civil matters referred to our court. I have had the opportunity to develop strong professional relationships with most attorneys who operate in Collin County, and with all the courts and their staffs. I have been responsible for courtroom security and the security of the public. I feel that my communication skills have allowed me to build productive relationships, based on mutual respect, with the attorneys I have worked with.
I served in the role of Detention Officer from 2017 to 2019. My responsibilities were the safety and security of Collin County detention inmates. I handled investigations and report writing for incidents and violations. I also had the role of training officer for new officers. I was a certified defensive tactics instructor, and I taught at the academy. I was certified as a Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) instructor and had classes with inmates, teaching that class.
From 2008 to 2017, I served in the role of Sergeant at the Collin County Sheriff's Office. During this time, I supervised the Classification Division, Booking Division, and Sergeant of courthouse security. I was responsible for the supervision of up to 30 officers, as well as the training, evaluation, and Pay for Performance for these officers. As a Sergeant in Classification, I interviewed all new inmates and determined their housing and classification level. I also investigated sources of problems or issues among inmates and determined any solutions necessary to ensure the safety and security of the facility. As the booking supervisor, I reviewed all documentation when a prisoner was accepted into our custody, as well as making sure an inmate's release was correct. During my time as Sergeant over courthouse security, I supervised all transfer staff. I met with judges to be aware of and address security concerns. It was also my responsibility to plan and supervise security for several high-profile criminal cases. I was also responsible for the accuracy of all court information in the Odyssey System. In addition to my primary responsibilities as a supervisor, I also taught defensive tactics at the academy, Use of Force Law, and was a certified Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) instructor. During this time, I was also a member of the Sheriff's Office Tactical team and was certified in the use of less-than-lethal weapons.
From 2005 to 2008, I served as a lieutenant at the Collin County Sheriff's Office. I was assigned as a Housing Lieutenant over the Detention Division. I was responsible for the supervision of up to 60 officers, which, along with their direct supervision, also included their evaluations and Pay for Performance reporting. My responsibilities included reviewing all reports written by staff, and filing criminal charges when necessary. I handled investigations into officers' conduct, as well as maintaining the officers' training requirements. During this time, I also supervised the jail tactical team and taught defensive tactics and Use of Force Law at the academy. I was responsible for several policy and procedure changes and equipment recommendations that improved the operations of the Sheriff's Office.
From 2003 to 2005, I served as a Sergeant at the Collin County Sheriff's Office. During the time I attended the Police Academy, I graduated at the top of my class. After graduation, I was assigned as a supervisor of the Minimum Security Detention Facility, supervising a staff of 10 officers. I was responsible for all safety and security of inmates and staff. During this time i gained my TCOLE Instructor certification and began teaching defensive tactics and other classes at the academy.
I began my employment at the Collin County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Officer in 2000. My responsibilities were the safety and security of county inmates. I was given the position of training officer, responsible for the training of new officers. I also became a member of the tactical team.
I began my law enforcement career with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department in 1995. I was employed as a detention officer, responsible for the safety and security of county inmates. During my time, I also became a training officer responsible for training new officers, and I became a member of the tactical team.
I have received several commendations and GEM awards from Collin County for my work performance.
