Talent Development Program Manager ASO

The Talent Development Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily program operations with a student musician cohort of 25. The manager also works closely and collaboratively with Atlanta Symphony staff primarily the Education Director and team members, and musicians who serve as instructors for the program. The program manager works directly with ASO staff, musicians, program founders, and volunteers to successfully plan and execute all TDP initiatives throughout the season.

Main responsibilities include the following:

  • Work with music instructors on creating and maintaining a music curriculum for each student based on instrument and grade level.
  • Create program policies, procedures, and guidelines which are then communicated accurately to all students, parents, musicians, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain that both the mission and vision of the program are executed to the highest quality.
  • Engage with local and national guest artist and musicians to bring in for masterclasses, music clinics, and learning development events.
  • Coordinating student registrations for auditions and directly managing the audition process successfully each year.
  • Maintain weekly communication to TDP students, families, and volunteers.
  • Collect and maintain data on all current students for all program requirements including attendance, jury evaluation comments, and concert report assignments.
  • Securing the use of ASO and Woodruff Arts Center spaces for auditions, performances, and meetings.

Assistant Coordinator

The role of the Talent Development Program Assistant Coordinator consisted of working closely with the program manager and education department to oversee the daily program operations that included the following:

  • Preparing weekly communication through email to all current students musicians and parents of the program. A roster of 25 students total each year.
  • Contact all Atlanta Symphony musicians who worked as current instructors for the program to coordinate weekly lessons with students.
  • Coordinate payroll payments for all current TDP instructors on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the manager with scheduling and overseeing music jury evaluations twice a year for all TDP student musicians.
  • Assist with scheduling annual student advisory meetings to review each student's progress and program performance after each semester.
  • Reach out to local/ national guest musicians and artist on the manager's behalf to hire for masterclasses, performances, and professional student learning events.
  • Assist the manager with preparing for student recitals and concerts at Symphony Hall or the Woodruff Arts Center campus.
  • Keep track of all student individual data including concert reports, summer camp reports, and attendance for TDP related events through the use of excel, Tessitura, and Airtable.

  • Serving as the main point of contact for students and parents on normal orchestra operations and health and safety protocols for all students and youth orchestra staff

    I put together both a masterclass series and recital series for the Talent Development Program for the 30th anniversary season.
