During my tenure as an intern at Scarsdale Eye Care in Houston, Texas, from 2022 to 2023, I gained invaluable hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of optometry under the guidance of Dr. Pham. Through shadowing Dr. Pham three hours a week, I've had the opportunity to witness firsthand the intricacies of patient care and the execution of eye exams. Engaging directly with patients, I've honed my communication skills by greeting them warmly and ensuring their comfort while waiting for assistance. Observing eye exams and Opti-Light laser treatments has deepened my understanding of optometric procedures. I've even had the chance to perform small portions of laser treatments myself under supervision. Additionally, my involvement in researching the Lumines Opti-light Machine and developing a brochure for the final product has allowed me to delve into the technical aspects of optometry and contribute to the clinic's promotional efforts. This internship has provided me with a multifaceted learning experience, solidifying my passion for optometry and equipping me with valuable skills for my future career.
