I have gained valuable experience as a security officer, applicable to nursing. Some of the skills I have developed include observational abilities, quick decision-making abilities under pressure, de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution, strong communication skills, and a heightened awareness of potential safety hazards—all of which are highly valuable in a healthcare setting, especially when dealing with patients, visitors, and sometimes volatile situations.
