Developed and implemented the annual Office Management Plans in consultation with program area input. Presented quarterly reports to HQ, monitored performance metrics, and provided recommendations to facilitate goal achievement. Developed a Regional management plan process that continued to drive results in Region VI. Responsible for congressional relations, crisis management, event coordination, outreach efforts, Regional and Headquarters support, Continuity of Operations, and office Freedom of Information Act response. Trained at the Department of Justice’s National Advocacy Center for FOIA. Acted as Field Office Director occasionally, including two weeks during Hurricane Ike and its immediate aftermath, assuming responsibility for staff, assets, and implementation of the Continuity of Operations Plan throughout the Office. Subsequently coordinated Agency efforts in Disaster Recovery Centers throughout the area, assisting FEMA, non-profit groups, state, and local governments in response efforts. Guided FPM and Field Office staff in core operational aspects such as correspondence management and front desk support. Began career as successful graduate of the HUD Intern Program, 1990-1992, and subsequently held various housing and staff related positions from 1992 to 1998. This included single family, major contract evaluations and awards, Contract GTR, multifamily property disposition, public affairs assistance, Regional multifamily staff, mortgage credit, construction analysis, and management of a multifamily portfolio. Performed HUD Environmental Reviews. Additionally, held second job and worked with Best Fares Travel Magazine as an copy writer.
