I was the Grocery Sales Manager for three different Big Y locations over the course of five years. As Grocery Sales Manager, my day to tasks included writing proper schedules to assure proper coverage was on to enhance the customer shopping experience. I oversaw the day to day tasks to make sure all deadlines were met and that the department didn’t fall behind, assisting where needed. I ensured all new and underperforming associates were given proper training so all could meet their potential, while creating a culture that made coming into work enjoyable for all. I oversaw all ordering, both when it was done by associates and then as we transferred to a new online ordering system. To make sure we remained properly in stock with our new online ordering system I performed daily counts of our aisles to make sure the actual inventory matched the computer. I oversaw the receiving of all inventory coming into the building and made sure we were receiving what we were being charged for. I maintained an organized back room area to ensure work flow was at its most efficient. I executed weekly merchandising plans to make sure all required sale items were displayed and signed properly. Additionally on top of my duties as the Grocery Manager, I was often ask to manage the store when my store’s admin team needed additional coverage. When asked to do this I would check in with all departments in the store to make sure they had proper staffing, assisting where I could, while also deal with any customer or employee conflicts to find the correct resolutions. I was the Dairy Chief for the Mashpee, MA Roche Bros. location for over a year. As dairy chief I was responsible for the ordering of the entire dairy department. I would break down deliveries in the mornings and maintain an organized dairy cooler. I stocked and rotated the deliveries as they came in, and assured proper stocking and rotation was happening by the part time associates at night. I would work with new and underperforming associates to help them reach their potential in the department.
