Taylor Broughton

My name is Taylor Broughton and I am seeking the opportunity to become a clinical therapist specifically in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hope to work in a Master’s Program to earn my fieldwork hours as well as my degree toward licensure. My goal as a therapist is to provide support to those in need as well as educate others on the impact mental health has on society to this day. My dedication, hard work and my experience with various populations will contribute to advancing my education to the highest degree.

Despite graduating a semester early, I have accomplished the efficiency of time management whilst dealing with the demands of my academics and being a leader in the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. As a Vice President, there comes many obligations and standards that make you a leader to your chapter members. Not only did I plan several main events for our chapter, I delegated our relationship with our Philanthropic Organization Girls on the Run. This organization emphasizes and inspires the highest light of womanhood. The Gamma Phi Beta chapter dedicates time and efforts to fundraise and coach these 3-5th graders who train to run an annual 5k. With this inspiring team to collaborate with and leadership role I held, I learned the implications of maintaining academically on track as well as organized with other events underneath my department.

• Kids Camp- LHS Dance Team, Choreographer/Teacher/Instructor,

I was chosen to be a choreographer and teacher for kids between the ages of 5 and 7. This camp was yearly starting 2019-2021., Carrie Pereira, (916) 812-4433

• Glenn Edwards Middle School Dance Team Program, Choreographer/Instructor/Teacher,

Three other colleagues and I were instructors for middle school students whom we choreographed dances for weekly., Carol Nichols, (916) 300-6996

• Building a Dog Park,

A community group including myself came together to build a dog park in Lincoln, CA., 2-5 hours

• Eagles Banquet,

I volunteered to help make bags of food for those who can not financially afford to buy meals for the holidays., 2-3 hours, Carrie Pereira, (916) 812-4433

• Community Snack Bar,

During high school sports games, I volunteered to work the snack bar tending to those who joined in watching the games. I would set up and clean up the snack bar before and after games as well. 

Volunteer Crisis Counselor Training
