My position in the cafeteria was removed and I worked at a teacher aide in the Kindergarten classroom.

Payroll Administrator

Roll N Rock Construction
02.2022 - 09.2022
  • I have worked as the main payroll person and have learned QuickBooks. My job consists of going over timecards and daily work reports for accuracy and expense receipts, that I then input into QuickBooks. I also handle and input all of the new hire paperwork, which consists of making sure it is filled out completely and correctly, then scanning it into personnel files. At the end of our payroll week I then log into company accounts and pay state and federal liabilities and payroll taxes, as well as making payments for employees' child support orders.

Medical Coordinator/ Cattery Supervisor

Siskiyou Humane Society Inc.
07.2021 - 01.2022
  • At SHS I was hired to coordinate the medical care of the animals within the humane society. This entailed treating sick and injured animals and making sure the animals were happy and not stressed. I was also promoted to cattery supervisor and had three employees. I oversaw day-to-day cleaning, treatments, and daily activities. I was also interested with some program work, I scheduled appointments for the public to get involved in our spay and neuter public assistance runs as well as helped with coordinating our foster program and our "Keep Them Home" grant program.

Placement coordinator

Personnel Preference
08.2019 - 03.2020
  • At Personnel Preference I started as a receptionist but was quickly moved up to Placement Coordinator. I went through applications, interviewed, placed people looking for work, I also worked with many of our clients placing people in positions they needed filled quickly. I also performed background checks and drug tests for potential employees. I was in charge of processing and distributing our employees' W-2s.

Veterinary Assistant

Mt. Shasta Animal Hospital
Mt. Shasta, CA
10.2013 - 08.2019
  • At the animal hospital, I perform many tasks in the reception area as well as the hospital in general. Up front, I answer phones, schedule appointments, process payments, and answer many questions for pet owners as they pick up and drop off their loved ones. We have a very organized filing system and I must retrieve and replace charts carefully. This usually entails delicate management of the pet owners as well; the moods often range from sad to irate, and I have learned the nuances of helping to calm and reassure clients.
  • For general patient care, I often assist doctors with surgeries by holding animals, trimming nails (which is routinely done under anesthesia), and drawing blood. Before and after surgery, I am expected to sterilize equipment and clean the rooms. I often make microscope slides from samples for the Doctor's to review. I also take and prepare samples which are picked up regularly and processed at a laboratory. I help the doctors by taking x-rays. I can prepare mediation doses for the Veterinarian's to administer to patients.
  • I am often tasked with the responsibility of going in on the weekend when the hospital is closed to care for the animals. This includes routine feeding and cleaning duties, and ensuring comfort and well-being of the animals. I monitor them for any additional care that may be needed.
  • Aside from the most technical aspects of this position, I am no stranger to the general care of the animals and the hospital! We have extensive daily cleaning duties such as laundry and cleaning every room. We must maintain cleanliness of the kennels. Furthermore, we enjoy meeting and spending time with all of the pets. We give them food and water, care for them as medically necessary, and we truly become enveloped in their lives. We are often all deeply affected by the triumphs and tragedies that go along with caring for the animals that come through.

Cashier & Stock Clerk

RAMSHAW'S ACE HARDWARE
Mt. Shasta, CA
02.2012 - 10.2013
  • Shortly after I graduated high school, I decided to move to the Mount Shasta area. I got a position at Ace Hardware. I learned to cashier, stock products, and advise customers on their DIY projects. I ran my own tool department, and was head of Special Orders. In the summer, I was responsible for watering the greenhouse as well as sorting and restocking the flowers.
  • At Ace, I began building my relationship with the community, which aided me greatly in my move to begin working for Mt. Shasta Animal Hospital and pursue my dream of working with animals.

Fish Processor

WOXOF FISHING LODGE
Point Baker, Alaska
01.2004 - 01.2010
  • During the summers growing up, myself and my family would take on seasonal employment at a local fishing lodge in our hometown of Point Baker, Alaska. My primary responsibility was to process the fish the guests had caught. We would fillet the fish, vacuum seal it and freeze it. Then it would go into fish boxes they could take home with them. I also helped with room cleaning and the weekly turnover of guests. This taught me from a young age a good work ethic and discipline. We often worked long shifts into the night. The guests were always kind and fun to get to know. I also had to be flexible to step in and help with projects around the property such as; plumbing, carpentry, refueling boats, repairing fish gear, and even helping with cooking some of the guest meals.
