Informs Base Housing residents about their responsibilities as pet owners.
• Responsible for investigating and taking statements of Domestic animals that have either bitten or showed signs of aggressive behavior.
• Knowledgeable in laws and regulations pertaining to cases involving abuse/neglect/bites of domestic animals.
• Responsible for registering domestic animals on base.
• Able to communicate orally and in writing to prepare official reports.
• Able to set-up non hostile traps for stray cats and dogs.
• Ability to maintain control of a situation, take action to process or detain persons suspected of violations of laws and federal regulations.
• Responsible for removing stray animals from base.
• Responsible for the capture and process animals by checking to see if they are micro chipped and to try to locate the owners. If owner cannot be contacted or found, animal is taken to the shelter and processed.
• Patrols the installation for vehicles which are not in compliance with state as well as Base regulations.
• Responsible for issuing citations for illegal parking or vehicles that are not in compliance with state and base regulations.
• Ensures that vehicles that are towed are towed in the proper manner.
• Take telephone complaints of vehicles and animals.
