I started off at Fedex loading and unloading trucks while scanning packages into the trucks and I did that consistently for about two years until I was able to obtain my tugger‘s license so I could become a tugger an my job as a tugger was too drive over to the van line to pick up the heavy packages and place them on the IC belt for scanning and proper placement… after two years of doing that I want to do something more exciting so I apply for the administration position… doing that time. I was already briefly helping the administrators with their work so I was able to learn what they did before I applied for the job. And we all learned a variety of things such as hazmat ,ITQA, learning about express packages and making phone calls to customers. But now I want to turn my focus on safety because I feel like we need someone that can stay on top of everything and keep this place safe for all the newcomers that’s coming in.
Currently a serviceman for the City of Saint Petersburg/ Sanitation Dept. My job is maintaining a brush site/ recycling center. Overseeing daily operations of the brush site and performing some special collection.Work includes directing citizens in placement of the brush material and recycling items; organizing and cleaning the brush site.Work one on one with resident While developing department goals, objectives, standards of performance, and policies and procedures. Keeping an open relationship with the residence whom comes to drop their brush and recycling. And also taking on the role of doing the mail truck/ dead animal truck. Doing lots of moving around in the city. Meeting new people in all the different departments inside the city.
While working for Tampa Bay times I started from the bottom as a packager handler for about two years. This involved feeding the newspaper into a hopper that drop into a machine to help build and make the newspaper.Was then promoted to a key operation and then a year later a crew leader. Doing that time I was the head crew leader and charge, my job consist of keeping track of calculations of the newspapers that we ran throughout the shift.
