I was in charge of budget for Juvenile Court and Child Care Fund. With the approval of the Probate Judge I interviewed candidates for employment in Juvenile Court and Probate Court.
I worked closely with the County Administrator and Board of Commission to approve the Child Care Fund Budget.
During the above dates I was appointed District Magistrate and held Small Claims Hearings.
During Law School, I continued working in Juvenile Court. I held hearings during the week and on the weekends. I also supervised staff in the absence of the Court Administrator.
When children cost the County for services, the Finance Officer seeks reimbursement from parents through orders from the Court. The Finance Officer tracks payments and seeks compliance using further Court Orders.
1978 -1981 Juvenile Probation Officer. I supervised Delinquent Youth. During this time our Juvenile and Probate Staff joined a union, but faced resistance outside our offices. Eventually we prevailed. During my tenure, many other departments joined collective bargaining units.
