Work History
Vice President of Business Development
International Wood Products
Clackamas
09.2020 - 06.2026
Took over struggling mill remanufacturing operation and distribution center in Cloverdale, CA, revitalizing performance for IWP.
I hired a General Manager, Operations Manager, three Outside Salespeople, and backfilled several other key positions.
Managed multiple capital projects, including construction of two new buildings and installation of new prime line, horizontal rip saw, and 12-inch moulder, enhancing operational capacity.
I focused on increasing margins with the sales teams. I insisted that we get paid for setup charges and premiums for small orders which resulted in immediately returning to profitability.
Collaborated with Outside Sales Team on joint sales calls to secure new program business, strengthening client relationships.
National Sales Manager
Roseburg Forest Products Co.
Springfield
11.2007 - 09.2020
I started out as a Sales Territory Manager in the Northwest covering WA, OR, ID, MT, and Western Canada. During this role I set up two Capital Lumber locations in OR and WA, I converted Rogue Pacific from BCI to RFPI, I converted TimberRoots in MT from TJ to RFPI, I helped convert many contracted yards to use RFPI through our distribution network. I helped RFPI gain acceptance as a substitution for TJ with many engineers in OR, WA, and MT.
As the Western Region Sales Manager for Roseburg, we converted Capital Lumber in Salt Lake to RFPI while keeping our relationship with SunPro intact. I set up Tiaga in British Columbia. I traveled with the TSMs as we conducted meetings with key customers in CO, CA, UT, MN, WA, and AZ.
In 2019 I was promoted to the National Sales Manager of EWP and was heavily involved in filling the order file at our new mill in Chester. During this time I set up all Taiga locations on a stocking LVL program. I worked closely with our key accounts across the country as we balanced strong demand with supply and quality issues with the new mill roll out. I helped the mills with accurate demand forecasts and insisted that we not slow mill production as Covid was causing others to shut down shifts.
