I have experience in the Correctional Field for over 20 years with Supervisory capacity for 15 of these years. I have worked in prisons, county jails, security in medical areas and recently in a prison without cells(dorms with beds in rows). I have been under extreme pressure with maximum offenders to offenders who have not been to trial yet. I have worked with very young to very old and had to adapt to the level needed.
Maintained security of the institution , the public when necessary and control of the offender population. I was assigned to the day shift where I operated a gate between the lockdown and medium custody offenders. Kept the offenders in an orderly fashion to and from activities such as education, chapel, and going to meals.
I was a Sergeant in Food Service for 5 years where I was assigned to the kitchen warehouse which included issuing the food to be used in the upcoming meal. Then I was the Recreational Director for 4 years where I controlled the balls and organized the games and craft shop . I organized the tournaments and conducted classes for lifetime sports such as bowling, softball. basketball, and volleyball. My last years were as the officer overseeing the chemical warehouse which consisted of issuing the bleach and soap and other chemicals to the kitchen, laundry and housing areas.
I was the History, Social Studies, and Health teacher for the grades 7-12. I coached boys and girls varsity and Middle School athletics.
I taught Social Studies to the grades 7-12 and coached the Middle School boys and girls athletics. I coached varsity football, basketball, and tennis.
I taught grades 4-12 in Social Studies and Economics, health and Athletics for all students
I was a Student Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball Team and worked for Coach Schneider's summer camps.
I ran the family business after my father had a stroke and could not operate the day to day operations. We drilled water wells for agricultural and residential purposes. We also did daily repairs on the wells to keep the water flowing.
I also was involved in Refereeing basketball and baseball on the high school and college level for several years/
Voted Coach of the Year in 2005 for Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
