Observes prisoners or detainees activities to detect unusual or prohibited behavior and or potential threats to the safet and security of the facility, prisoners, detainees,employees, or visitors.

Conduct thorough searches of prisoners, detainees, visitors, employees, cells, and other structures for such prohibited items as critical tools, weapons, drugs, and other contraband.

Attempts to obtain prisoners or detainees compliance with facility rules and regulations.

Responds quickly to calls for assistance in other areas of the prison/detention center as needed.

May participate in searches for escaped prisoners or detainees.May operate computerized equipment.

Conducts regular rounds of unit where prisoners/detainees are housed.
