Master Thesis Summary

Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Care Administration, Taipei Medical University, Taiwan, Measuring Nurse's Intentions and Behavior towards Electronic Medical Records in a South-India's Hospital, Electronic medical records have been implemented in many hospitals in recent years. Healthcare providers benefit from their effective data processing and less attention has been observed on nurse users, who provide 24-h patient care. Every individual nurses have a different expertise, background and lack of computer skills, which are necessary to use an electronic medical information system. Since, hospitals may provide insufficient knowledge and training programs on EMR systems for their employee's. The aim of this study is to measure nurses’ intentions and behavior towards using EMRs through their concerning, attitude and opinions. This study was carried on the nursing staff based on the technology acceptance model (TAM) and theory planned behavior model (TPB) variables. The variables in our study used such as perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), subjective norm (SN), computer literacy (CL), privacy (P), security (S), intention to use (I) usage behavior (B). The findings clearly shows that the successful implementation of EMR in health care organizations will also increase the quality of service, it could be useful to improve the public health programmers.
