  • I help with prepping charts when needed, Scanning prepped charts into batch manager and providing quality control of charts being electronically submitted into Cerner and validating charts with correction information to the correct patient and accounts.
  • I am certified in birth registration but currently only work in transmitting birth registration information into Tx Ever to have baby information ready to be sent to the state in order to receive birth certificate.
  • I am efficient in Cerner to view patient information/documentation, SMS to view patient charges.
  • I also utilize virtual desktop to access information that is designed to be used by all the facilities within the hospital.
  • I have mastered in learning how to use 3M Health Data Management that is utilized by coders to code accounts; I use this tool in order to add my comments from the departments regarding the status of the account whether its pending orders or charges to be corrected and then its used by coders to finalize the account.

  • My duties include but not limited too the following:
  • Doing rounds (picking up medical records throughout the hospital and the many clinics DHR has around for Renaissance Medical Foundation)
  • Prepping paperwork ( I take off staples and making sure each paperwork stays with the correct patient and making sure I add the correct cover pages to where paper work need to be sent to ex: physician's orders, administrative documents, misc, history and physical and so on.)
  • Scanning (scanning each patients charts (paperwork) into our system.
  • Quality and control/ and validation (this is where once paperwork has been prepped, scanned, I then check the patients charts for quality making sure it has poor quality stamp if needed and re scanning anything that looks blurry and double checking the correct patients paper work is being processed.
  • I then validate all the patients charts into their correct accounts and matching the patients information.
  • I work with cerner which is where we have our patients records scanned into.
  • I also help cover for medical records throughout our department.
  • I have recently been added a task of reviewing NICU charts to make sure they are up to date with history and physical, progress notes and discharge summaries for the time being in the hospital.
  • If something is missing I reach out to nurse practitioner or to the director of NICU department over at the women's hospital.
  • While working for medical records at DHR, I have received many certificates stating doing a 95% and above in my work area.
  • I currently received a High Five within the hospital which means my director chooses someone who has done above and beyond within the department. I received it for being compassionate.
