Versatile Senior Director highly experienced in Human Resource and Legal areas. Hands-on leadership and management background with a solid track record of success in process optimization and operational restructuring. Seeking a Human Resource position with a growing operation.
I was responsible for the following departments: HR, Payroll, Benefits, Workers Compensation and Legal for 8 companies (712 employees).
HUMAN RESOURCE: I perform all HR responsibilities. Recruitment, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new company staff, worked with business leaders to evaluate and optimize human resources polices in all areas, FMLA, creating/enforcing the company Handbook, E-Verify, Unemployment Claims, continuously created and rolled out Policy/Procedures as business needs changed, filing of EEO report each year. Upon accepting this position, I implemented an HRIS system in all 8 companies.
PAYROLL: I processed payroll for all 8 companies, bi-weekly and oversaw the tax calculations, etc. Approved all raise request and created/implemented Bonus/Commission structure.
BENEFITS: I was responsible for negotiating contract each year, for Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance. Perform Open Enrollment meeting with each company and adding/removing New Hires and Terminations thru out the year, as needed.
WORKMANS COMPENSATION: I was response to negotiate WC plans, along with the Liability/Auto coverage, on a yearly basis. I would handle each WC claim and report to the Insurance carrier, as need, while following the employee work restriction, if any. Consistently watching claims, to keep the companies from going into the "poo;". I was also responsible to file the WC reporting each year.
LEGAL: I was able to keep the legal claims, Employment and Liability, to a minimum and without going into the legal system. During my 7 years at Fee/Hedrick Family Entertainment Group I had ZERO Employment Law Complaints and 9 Liability Claims, with 8000,000+ guest attending shows per year (which went into the Legal system). Only ONE Plaintiff was paid and it was in the total amount of $2,000, NONE of the 9 made it past Depositions.
Entered a company undergoing rapid expansion as the first ever HR Director; lacking in organizational effectiveness, with no established HR practices, build HR department from the ground up to implement HR standard and compliance, revamped employee handbook, polices and procedures, job descriptions and introduced a performance management system.
Resuscitated struggling organization by reducing overstaffed workforce by 25%, addressing and resolving compliance issues and facilitating extensive training programs.
Enable the CRO to become more productive by handling a wide array of executive office tasks, including screening phone calls, preparing correspondence/memos and creating new process/procedures. Improved efficiency by organizing mounds of paperwork into confidential, detail-oriented filing system. Coordinate and set up high level conference calls/meeting, board and management meetings, special events and travel arrangements for top executives, assist managers with projects as needed.
My duties also include recruiting, disciplinary actions, assisting manager, ne hire orientations, E-verify, workman's comp, UI claims, EEOC Claims.
In this positions also have many additional duties which include, but not limited to:
Projected numbers, maintaining the CEO's calendar and assisting with preparation of upcoming meeting, screen calls and email, scheduling of company events, back up Accountant, everyday business operations. I have also served an many back up positions: Assistant GM, Arena Manager and Accounting.
