Worked on developing the next generation LASIK surgical platform: Optics, image module and algorithms:

1. Ownership of the design and development of a high NA microscope.

• Optical Module design and wrote the image analysis software.
• Performed cost/size/performance trade-off analysis of different architect.
• Developed calibration procedures, GR&R and V&V plans for product releasing.

• Design and prototyped the special image lens module with auto-focusing function.
• Developed the auto-focusing and eye tracking algorithm with global and local optimization.
• Developed pure optical image stitching technique.

1. Designed and built heterodyne detected coherent nonlinear spectroscopy with 1/100 wavelength phase sensitivity.

• Built four interferometers with kilohertz's feedback servos to stabilize the system and retrieve the optical phase at high precision.
• Designed and built Optical Phase control instrument by using acoustic optical modulators (AOM,SLM,DOE).

2. Designed and built ARM micro-controller-based optical sensing and feedback systems for laser.
