Work closely with plant and engineering staff to optimize equipment, maintain uptime and recovery budgets, and coordinate plant projects.
Review daily reports, DCS trends, and meet with plant operations to determine NGL and SPL recovery, residue gas sales, plant efficiency, and interface with operations to assure the plant is on target.
Prepare and present daily production totals, and discuss any outstanding maintenance issues at each morning meeting.
Coordinate work activities with the Maintenance Specialist. Review all open work orders and prioritize.
Manage plant inventory and communicate with vendors to ensure the correct amount of product is delivered on time. Ensure all invoices are paid with the correct coding.
Manage training for operations. Complete a walk-down of equipment with operators to ensure training has been completed before becoming certified.
Complete a walk-through of the facilities on a frequent basis to ensure process safety and search for potential hazards.
Partner with the Plant Team Lead to discuss the status of jobs, equipment, schedule needs, recovery rates, and any potential employee issues.
Create an environment where members of the team make day-to-day decisions, while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions.
Develop a daily operator schedule and manage requests for time off, including the scheduling of relief operators.
Manage, communicate, and ensure compliance with Oxy standards and best practices.
Monitors and controls plant operations.
Constantly reviews the operation of the plant to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Participates in projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
Maintains adequate records of key production variables, such as production volume, yield, plant uptime, utility consumption, etc. on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, as required.
Collaborate with contractors and vendors for all activities.
Responsible for equipment lock/tagout for maintenance and repairs.
Recognizes equipment abnormalities. Communicates with maintenance regarding significant repairs.
Communicates directly with the maintenance department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
