Chargify: Smart Alert System for Efficient EV Charging Turnover
Final Year Project – 2025

Developed a smart monitoring system that consists of a dashboard for admins/operators and a mobile app for EV owners to optimize electric vehicle (EV) charging station usage and enhance user experience by detecting vehicle type, tracking charging completion, and identifying vehicles that overstay after being fully charged.

The solution was designed to address two common issues related to EV usage in Qatar:

• Illegal occupation of EV charging spots by non-EV vehicles
• Overstay of EVs after charging is complete

My Contributions:

• Designed and documented use cases, abuse cases, and security cases for the admin/operator dashboard.
• Planned and implemented security defenses to protect the dashboard against potential threats.
• Collected real-world data about EV charging stations in Qatar to provide accurate, localized insights for the dashboard.
• Captured and labeled photos and videos of EV and non-EV vehicles to train machine learning models integrated into the system.
• Performed security testing on the dashboard to evaluate its resilience and measure its overall security posture.
