Some of the greatest minds have practiced philosophy, and while it is not strictly speaking "practical" at times, it is the mother of all the sciences; that is to say, science and our understanding of all other subjects begin with philosophy; more specifically, it begins with our understanding of logic, ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, aestetics, etc This is the groundwork for not only how we interpret and understand reality but also how we organize society Indeed, philosophy is the reason we have a notion of "society" at all Thus, it is my belief that philosophy is the most important subject because it is prior to all other subjects and is utilized in all other subjects, though many may not recognize it Regardless, the skills acquired in philosophy are exactly the kinds of "soft skills" required in management and communicating clearly with an organization of people
