Director of Retention (January 2020-May 2021):

  • Focused on building a sense of community on campus amongst the Yemeni community by holding events that enrich the professional, educational, and social experience of Yemeni students on campus. Some events I held were Life After College, Social Entrepreneurship event, and new admit welcome event.

President (June 2021):

  • Oversee the work of the directors and support them as needed with events they are hosting.
  • In charge of responding to emails and communicating with the organizations on and off-campus interested in collaborating with the Yemeni Student Association.
  • Oversee advertising and marketing on our social media platforms. In addition, I did research and distributed surveys, polls, and attendee sign-in lists.
  • Applied for grants for the organization, for which I have received approximately $40,000 in funding.
