I was nominated out of 2,000 students at South Georgia Tech College. It was 5 people selected and I was one. GOAL refers primarily to the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL), a program for students in the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) recognizing academic excellence and leadership through local, regional, and state competitions, with the winner becoming the TCSG Student of the Year. It also refers to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, a K-12 initiative where taxpayers can redirect state income tax to fund scholarships for private schools.
