Dedicated 911 Dispatcher offering four and a half years of related experience. Familiar with managing emotions and staying clear-headed under pressure. Extensive training in assisting the public with getting the help they need and public safety, emergency medical dispatch, emergency police dispatch, and emergency fire dispatch protocols.
In 2019, I received Telecommunicator of the Year after only being at Cabell County 911 for just a year and a half. Through persistent hard work, showing up early and staying late, picking up extra shifts, going to other 911 centers when our dispatch center would go down, and always being a team leader, I was able to obtain the title of Telecommunicator of the Year.
On January 30th, 2022, we received a hostage situation call that resulted in a pursuit with local law enforcement. Due to quick decision making skills and critical thinking, we were able to ensure the hostage's safety. I took this initial call and started the appropriate law enforcement agency towards the alleged suspect after we pinged the phone. I also handled the entire pursuit, and helped the female hostage get to safety. Because of this entire incident, I received an accommodation from the Director of Cabell County 911.
