Being a chief resident, I was selected for compass program for emerging leaders of sound physicians, selected in 12 candidates nationwide. It was 12 month program which I started during residency, after I started working as hospitalist at my first site, opportunity of leadership opened up and I was offered to become Chief hospitalist. It was a steep learning curve for me as a young clinician and administrator, it taught me a lot. I've thoroughly enjoyed my leadership role, but I also worked full time clinical.
