I am a well-rounded applicant with sales experience looking to establish roots in a single industry.
Whilst in high school I worked at a retail store performing a wide variety of services ranging from warehouse work, customer service, maintenance and many more. There I received my first promotion and learned about the importance of being a reliable employee with great time management. Out of high school, I hit the ground running. Rather than accruing student debt, I wanted to build my work skills and experience immediately.
I started working for the Washington DC’s Carpenter’s Union as an apprentice for a year, attending monthly week long classes while working at several different construction sites. To make this possible, I moved to Baltimore, MD at age 20 and became independent and self-sufficient. Following that, I grew to realize time is worth more than money and the prospect of earning commission for my hard work became much more relevant in my life.
I moved on to a pest control job in order to maintain an income while also gaining new skills. There I got my first taste of commission from selling pest control services while also performing the services myself. I quickly received promotions and raises for my hard work. I became one of the select few entrusted with a company truck. At this job I learned how crucial customer relations are in order to have a successful business.
I then moved to Richmond, VA where I got a sales job, working door-to-door selling solar panels. While meeting and exceeding sales quotas I found having a base pay or salary is a necessity.
I then made a transition to a corporate office environment working at a freight brokerage performing logistical and sales work. I continued to consistently exceed quotas and developed my understanding of the industry.
Throughout all of this, I picked up side work in several different fields to widen my skill set. My experience in many different industries has formed me into a very well rounded and useful employee. However I’m now looking to settle into one industry in order to create job security, master my sales skills, and help a business grow and perform to its greatest potential.
