integrating, coordinating, and monitoring the "active treatment" of individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings (such as ICF/IIDs) or day programs. QIDPs act as chairpersons of interdisciplinary teams, ensuring that personal centered plans are developed and followed to foster independence.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Individual Service Plan (ISP/OISP) Development: Coordinates the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive person-centered plans (e.g., Individual Habilitation Plans - IHP).
  • Active Treatment Monitoring: Ensures that individuals receive active treatment—consistent, hands-on, and therapeutic intervention—to meet their goals.
