As a student I am exposed to many different professional paths in an educational setting however, working at Kate Spade and Chick-fil-a have allowed me to develop my professional skills. At Kate Spade, I was able to connect with guests on a personal level to gather their likes and dislikes to help them make a purchase. I was able to view the store from the business side, interpret sales goals, and make decisions that would suit my own goals and those of the company. At Chick-fil-a, I was put in high-stress situations that have improved my ability to think quickly to resolve situations. I quickly learned that communication and adaptability was the key to success. I also had the privilege to use my Spanish fluency in both the retail and food industry to interact and deepen my connection with more guests; usually while cashiering and using money managing skills.
