Adhere in reviewing potential Advance Parole, ADIT, IJ Grants during info counter appointments.
• Conduct security checks in accordance with all applicable DHS/USCIS laws and policies. • Adjudicate by approving or denying applications and petitions for immigration benefits, decide on the right level of review needed, and update databases with the correct information and decisions.
• Take part in assisting officials of other Federal agencies in identifying individuals who pose a potential threat to national or public security.
• Investigate and analyze various sources such as immigration laws and regulations, operating procedures, legislative history, past court decisions, state and local laws, and international treaties to make informed decisions in adjudication.
• Process electronic or paper applications and petitions for immigration benefits using available electronic systems to verify numerous established data points.
• Gather information using a variety of methods including document review, electronic systems checks, interviews, etc. to make adjudicative decisions on immigration benefit applications/petitions.
• Provide applicant/petitioner/beneficiary support including liaison with internal and external stakeholders, problem resolution, and in-person services.
• Answer questions from all levels- Consider setting a protocol.
• Lead workgroups. Participate on workgroups. Attend various handbook committee meetings and assist with drafting handbook material. Review handbook material, provide feedback, and complete Program Development Department.
• Research/Prep for Quality Control/Corrective Action Program Error Review/Work Performance Review errors including, district, regional, and admin Corrective Action Review Board, making CARB packets and updating CARB agenda.
• Follow up on errors after CARB, implement correction actions.
• Research and document correct QC/WPR reviews and make certificates. -Follow up for correct QC reviews with notes that need action.
• Research System Management Analysis Review Tool issues and log in tracker SMART updates for new staff, staff promoting, name changes and items on dashboard.
• Give QC presentation at district offices for EWI’s Determine exemplar report/AD HOC data points, validate information, and provide feedback on the outcome.
• Facilitate calibration including meeting with the CAS team, then resource supervisors to discuss error trends and scenarios. - Scheduling meetings, meeting with staff in each district discussing the scenarios and answering questions.
• Meet with the CAS team to debrief and discuss questions. Research questions and issue a Q&A document (minimum 3-month process).
• Meet and assist Program Education Resource Center with the creation of Policy Reviews and In-Service’s. Review in test environment, provide feedback, and give final approval.
• Review the quantity and quality of work performed; assume responsibility for work group error identification, analysis, prevention and corrective actions; confer with supervisory/management staff on individual cases as needed; testify on behalf of the department at formal hearings.
• Supervise and assigned work; collaborated with other supervisors in coordinating the activities of staff; interpreting rules, regulations and policies; make recommendations regarding improved work methods, policies and procedures.
• Participate in studies or research projects. Prepared correspondence and reports. Obtained significant information concerning such items as income, employment, other resources, and financial obligations from applicants and recipients.
• Supervise staff; participate in personnel decisions, including hiring and disciplinary actions; train staff and participate in the development of training programs.
• Assist subordinate staff on the more difficult eligibility problems and in identifying problems requiring referral to Social Services; interview complainants and made necessary adjustments if necessary. Answered inquiries from public or other agencies regarding available programs and services.
• Participate in studies or research projects. Prepared correspondence and reports.
• Act on behalf for District Manager when necessary.
• Screen over 1200+ new potential applicants that came in applied for assistance monthly.
• Conduct such interviews in a Transitional Assistance Department office, private homes, hospitals, nursing homes or other locations outside the department office.
