State licensed with expertise in color corrections and natural hair care.
I graduated PJC with honors, I went on to work at 10th Ave Hair Design as an assistant for six extremely busy stylists. No one had ever managed to assist six busy hair stylists, I did it with ease because I can create systems, even when I don't know what I'm doing. It didn't take me long to understand how to manage these six hair stylists in a way that kept them on track, and I was able to also shampoo color clients, process perms, and clean up after each stylist between clients. I was then asked after a year of working 6 days a week 10 hours a day to work for the owner of 10th avenue Dale Moore. I worked for Dale Moore for a year and within that year I built an entire clientele, he gave me a chair before I was even a renter I was still his assistant. He was impressed by my time management and ability to take care of his clients and my clients. I worked as an assistant for 2 years before I was on the floor as a self-employed hairstylist. I have a well-rounded work experience in the cosmetology business. I feel I would be a perfect candidate as a cosmetology teacher, it would be a full circle for me to be able to share the knowledge that I have acquired in my 35 years of experience. I have spent my time wisely educating myself in every aspect of the hair business, and I would love to share this with the up and coming talent, to help them feel more comfortable and confident going out into the workforce. I know I can do this because I encourage my own clients, and they tell me that they appreciate my support. There's so much more to being a hairstylist than just doing hair.
