Since my first job at fifteen years old I have worked closely with children and adults both. My time as a camp counselor I worked with children and also closely with the parents of each child in my class to help reach goals set in place for each child that year on an educational and fundamental goal. My time working the front desk at Bon Secours gave me the opportunity to work learn and grow customer service skills and to learn time management and office skills. I learned a lot about the health care profession as well as managing schedules, filing insurances, collecting and posting payments, and developed a strong skill in working with the general public. As a childcare worker and nanny I was able to work in the homes of families and manged day to day activities with children ranging in ages of 6 weeks old to 8 years old. Through the course of those years I was able to put my early childhood education training into affect and create a healthy, fun, and safe learning environment for the children with their families. At my current job as a Patient Referral Coordinator I am, once again, able to use my communications skills, as well as time management, and customer service skills. On a daily basis I take between 30-40 phone calls. I am responsible for all new patient appointments scheduled in that practice I work for and typically received 20-30 referrals a week averaging scheduling 20 new patient appointments per week. I am responsible for all new patient information sent to patients and answering all questions related to the services our practice provides.
