My first real job was working as a lot tech here at Murdock VW, i started when i was a junior in High School. Working as a lot tech taught about the work environment, car industry but the most important was that i learned how to talk to customers when i had to give them rides when they would drop off their vehicles to get their car serviced. I worked as a lot tech for two years and one month after graduating high school i got promoted to be a parts counter person and that's where i learned all the important things about working as a parts counter person.
I would help customers at the front desk and over the phone, also help the technician's get the parts they desire. Would help manage the stock of parts, i developed strong relationships with parts stores in the valley.
I would wash and the vacuum the vehicles that would come get their car serviced, Usually i would give customers ride back to their home or their jobs, also i would prep the vehicles that the sales man would sell. I had to wash the technician's bay take out their garbage our ultimate goal was to help everyone as much as we could.
