As a Technical Expert, I developed, adjudicated and authorized the most complex and highly unusual cases which usually involved a number of different SSA administered programs. I provided expert technical advice and assistance to other employees during the decision making process. I used expert technical knowledge of guidelines and policies to assist other employees with complex case processing and post-entitlement actions o ensure the accuracy of the information and decisions. I developed and responded to high profile or time sensitive cases and congressional inquiries as a assigned. As a technical expert I also conducted case reviews for quality improvement, training and performance management and as necessary audit interviews. I would provide feedback to management and prepare written instruction, and refer to policy for process improvement. I would provide a lead role in technical training and mentoring of other employees and provide definitive interpretation of new legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and/or updates. I would provide technical and expertise on the most effective use of new and existing software/systems to process complex claims and post-entitlement systems. I encouraged the use of all development tools issued by the agency and the use of the internet, intranet and various software applications.

As a technical expert, I have comprehensive knowledge of the provisions of all programs administered by the Social Security Administration and how they interface with other related programs to effectively deliver services which meet the needs of the public. I have knowledge assigned SSA programs to solve the most complex and sensitive cases, to mentor and advise other specialists on case processing, to diagnose fraud, systems and processing problems, and make recommendations on new, emerging or quality issues.

I have served as a technical expert on public fraud issues in specific claims and post-entitlement cases. i have developed potential cases, when the claimant has misrepresented his/her circumstances, so that SSA's Office of Inspector General (OIG) can adjudicate the case. I collected all relevant information/background and developed the basis for the case to be made in the administrative process and/or court. I would also develop, make, and implement administrative sanction decisions.

I have the ability to research the most complex unprecedented issues, and situations, evaluate evidence , facts and allegations to draw sound and timely conclusions and to explain and document the basis of my conclusion. I have the ability to maintain flexibility and approachability to handle the many responsibilities in assisting co-workers and management while maintaining a balanced workload.
