In 2020, pre-covid strike, I came to a harsh realization that I was reaching an age where not being disciplined and motivated toward a goal was starting to affect my future. I needed help explaining why I wasn't motivated or where to begin to fix it. A close friend at the time told me about a Police camp he had done the previous year. I heard it and thought, "What better way to fix this problem than with harsh discipline." Sirens at 5 in the morning, screaming, training, standing for hours on end in the middle of a summer day. It would have been hell if I had ever been there, and it was probably the most unenjoyable experience at the start. But as I kept sticking with it and putting 100% in daily, I saw a change. Not just physically but mentally as well. I was strong and felt entirely in control of my emotions, attitude, and time. Toward the end of the camp, one boy and a girl were chosen for the Academy Award. Somehow, out of 10 groups, a girl in the same group got the award. It shows that our leader had our best interest at heart, and I will always thank him and the rest of the staff for changing my life. I don't know how and don't even want to wonder how I would have resolved those previous issues, but I'm greatful I had an opportunity like this to change my life.
