Hello there, My name is Charles Wilson I have collectively worked for Aramark for 10 years now. Starting out as a general utility worker my work ethic and determination awarded me with be promoted to Receiving Clerk(Loading Dock Manager) in just under a year's time. I have a really strong work ethic in believing that we should perform to our absolute best and go above and beyond for our customers and clientele. After a short time away from Aramark working at Amazon I returned to the company where I now reside as a Catering Event Supervisor.   • I work currently with Aramark/EKU Catering as a catering event supervisor, my job entails several responsibilities and has given me opportunities to gain experience in several different fields which I will list below:
  • Creating pull lists for supplies needed for the events.
  • House Care and cleanliness, One of the biggest priorities in the department is cleanliness we're not able to operate when making sure our equipment and facilities are mopped, sterilized, and in working order, We maintain this after every event by ensuring our dirty equipment is sent through to dish room where it is to be washed, inspected for cleanliness and sterilized for next day use. Our floors are to be mopped and cleaned every few days because the heavy foot traffic would allow for them to become dirty and scuffed up quickly and needs to be maintained regularly for our facility to stay in working order
  • FIFO (First in First Out)- In working in food we receive our new stock every few days in which we help our kitchen staff in putting away the new stock. I've worked prior to joining the catering division as the loading dock manager of this same facility and the most important tool in stocking those food items is stock rotation, The oldest stock needs be brought up to be the first thing used it reduces food waste and ensures that those food items will be used before there expiration date
  • Food Preparation/Cooking- We host a lot of events throughout the year and with that we're not shy to jumping in and helping out our kitchen make sure they can achieve the crunch time of these events. From slicing fruit to construct food trays, to diving in and even learning from our chef on how make things I myself have learned from our chef the method of making four cheese cavatappi, the differences in cooking with different types of cheeses, the importance of internal temperatures of food and being able to maintain that flavor profile. I've recently requested to work even more with our chef because I have a deep love for cooking and do it a lot outside of work for myself, my family and my friends.
  • Presentation- The biggest challenge in the catering department. Presentation this makes or breaks you in the catering world outside of food quality. Clients love when they're presented with that WOW factor it shows true dedication to your work and makes not only the company you work for look good but yourself as well.
