During my time as a Coast Guard member, I was able to develop my leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Being the small boat operator, you are in charge of leading a crew and making decisions in a high-stress and ever-changing environment where people's lives are on the line. On top of these duties, I was in charge of running Station San Francisco's medical department. It was my responsibility to maintain and supply all of the station's first aid equipment, giving me valuable logistics experience. It was also my duty to train and certify all 30 Station members in first aid, providing them with the life-saving skills needed for our job. After leaving the Coast Guard, I began my current role as a server at Jetty's Waterfront Restaurant. While working in this fast-paced and upscale dining restaurant I have developed great communication skills, while further building on my critical thinking and problem-solving skills to satisfy clients while selling $1000-$2000 in food and drinks a night.
