Summary

A college student who has been working in the healthcare system for 3 years eager to learn more about pharmaceuticals, and, to be able to serve in providing medical assistance to the public. Enthusiastic Pharmacy Tech interested in learning more about the production and use of drugs and their functions on the body.

The realization of wanting to pursue a career in pharmacy and get a PharmD degree was cultivated in the junior year of high school when COVID hit. All schools were shut down and everyone was learning in a virtual setting. When schools opened back up, the personal decision was made to not go back to school, and instead continue virtual school. During the time as a virtual student, there was a sudden urge to get a job. The local hometown pharmacy was hiring and this is where the love for pharmaceuticals came from when hired for a job. The curiosity about drugs grew bigger and bigger, so the desire to get further experience as a pharmacy tech in a bigger setting also grew, specifically the local hospital inpatient pharmacy. Being hired as a Patient Access Specialist in the local hospital was intended to obtain a job as a pharmacy tech. Just recently the next step has been taken by accepting a job at the same hospital, as a pharmacy tech. Working since junior year of high school has provided experiences and knowledge about retail pharmacy, inpatient pharmacy, and healthcare, and cultivated an eagerness to further the knowledge in the pharmaceutical world.
