This corporate wide initiative is used in all eight states of operation. This process included writing an open book API-1104 exam to qualify Company Qualified Welding Inspector as well as ongoing training.

In 1993 I was promoted from District Operations Manager to Assistant Manager, while in this position I earned my CWI from the American Welding Society. (relinquished during Covid). I was second in command of 23 direct reports and responsible for compliance, budgeting, maintenance and safe operations of 5 compressor stations and 489 miles of transmission mainlines. 24 hour on-call responsibilities, major incident response and recovery on mainline and plant incidents. During this time I attended Idaho State University earning 73 credits towards a bachelor degree in corporate training. I received my private pilot licences, single engine fixed wing.

I started with a specification review and training of Kern River in SLC, then Spread 6 in Mesquite Nevada staking reroutes and submitting to engineering for alignment changes. firing line, road bores on a 90 mile section. Spread 3 in Salt Lake City, road bores and tie-ins and finished completing across hazardous tailing materials and canals on the Kennecott Copper Mine. Worked with Cooper Cameron Valves to set the valve stops and actuators on on valves on Spread 3.
