I have gained extensive experience as a Pharmacy Technician from working 2 years at Walgreens Pharmacy and currently over 6 months at CVS Pharmacy. My primary goal is healthcare, and working in this role propels me towards it without requiring a graduate degree. In this capacity, I directly assist patients with medication needs and post-doctor visit concerns. My time in the pharmacy has enhanced my understanding of various medications and their health applications. The impact of pharmacy technician roles in customer interactions has highlighted the importance of patience and attentive listening. A significant aspect of my responsibilities involves prescription tasks, demanding a 100% accuracy rate in typing, calculation, and pill counting which shows the needed thoroughness and precision of a technician. Additionally, I play an important role in insurance processes, aiding patients in claims and issue resolution. I am really passionate about my current job and the pharmacy setting because it provides a platform to enhance my knowledge and gain healthcare experiences before pursuing a graduate degree.
The pharmacy setting inherently emphasizes teamwork, and I have actively engaged with colleagues to ensure the efficient processing of prescriptions, creating a cohesive and supportive work environment. Working collaboratively has allowed me to learn various ideas and insights from my coworkers and also gave me chances to share my opinions with others. Learning from experienced team members is very important because it helps me to address any challenge that arises in the fast-paced pharmacy setting. Our collective efforts have shown how crucial it is to communicate, be adaptable, and support one another in order to provide our community with high-quality healthcare services. My experiences have shown me how important cooperation is in the pharmacy setting, and I'm dedicated to building cooperative partnerships to improve patient care and overall operational effectiveness.
I used to volunteer at Normandale Campus Cupboard where students can get free food to support their life expenses. As a student, I know it’s very hard to balance life between school and work, so the meaningful support from this community attracted me to join the team. There, I helped to stock the products on the shelves and organized them. I also helped students check in at the front desk. Volunteering helped me to get to know more people in my school, especially, my Campus Cupboard manager. Her name is Paige Wheeler who introduced me to a school photographer who interviewed me about my life. I proudly had a post on the official Normandale social media to share my opinions and experiences with other students. Community service became a wonderful place where I had more new friends and was able to contribute help to the community.
