I grew up in Maine and went through COVID-19 quarantine in high school. When school was canceled I was forced to take on a larger roll at the restaurant as a result of the deficits in employees after deciding to collect unemployment. I was 17 managing an entire restaurant. I faced adults unwilling to work under me, I handled unruly customers unwilling to abide by mask mandates, I handled employees quarantining and last minute cancellations, and going from take out to dine in, and back in forth abiding by recommendations. Converting a Fine Dining, five course, destination restaurant into a fully takeout restaurant in two weeks, while loosing 85% of all employees and deciding what I wanted to do after high school, all during a pandemic was not easy.
I had always been completely intrigued at the Idea of being able to capture people raw, and unfiltered in their best moments. Senior year of high school I launched my own website and business and was getting paid for weddings, family portraits, and senior photos.
