• Assist veterinarians and senior technicians in providing general and urgent care to 20-40 patients a day.
• Perform clinical skills (under supervision of a senior tech) such as: SQ injections, administrating fluids, and administrating vaccines.

• Cleaned and disinfected exam areas, surgical equipment, and kennels to prevent diseases and control odors.
• Ensure accuracy of medical records by diligently documenting all relevant information for each patient visit.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff to provide exceptional customer service while managing phone calls and front desk tasks. This includes keeping detailed records of customer interactions whether over the phone, text or email.
• Assist senior staff with blood analyses and physical assessments.

• Built strong relationships with local veterinarians and other animal care professionals to ensure timely and appropriate care for all animals.
• Administered medications, either IM,SQ, or PO, to all the animals, per veterinarian recommendations.
• Monitored overall health of animals through daily observation and hands-on training.
• Kept daily/continuing logs of all the animals, both past and present, tracking any irregularities, new or continuing health issues and any changes in overall care or enrichment plans.
• Ensured compliance with all relevant regulations (USDA) by diligently reviewing policies and updating documentation as needed.
• Implemented enrichment programs to promote mental stimulation and overall well-being for housed animals.
• Managed inventory of food, supplies, and medications to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing costs.

• Always on call to ensure the wellbeing of the animals in care including miniature donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and reptiles.

• Under supervision of the animal manager, cared for and provided appropriate enrichment to all animals on site including miniature donkeys, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, and ducks. Care included picking hooves, brushing coats, giving bathes, and assisting with any medical procedures when needed.
• Assisted with animal shows with the animal care manager.
• Cleaned and sanitized barns and enclosure areas; ensured that there were not environmental or man made obstructions in the enclosures that could potentially cause harm to any of the animals (whether through interaction with or consumption).
• Answered questions about Fairyland and animals alike from children and their families that came to the park.
• Skills learned during this time included:

- Trimming goat and sheep hooves

- Expressing sheep lanolin glands

- Administrating SQ and IM injections to sheep and goats. Only gave oral or ocular medications to equines.

• Helped care for animals ranging from raccoons and opossums to hawks and smaller song bird varieties. Learned various handling techniques for each animal to assist with intake exams, transport purposes, or for the administration of different medications/treatments.
• Cleaned and created species appropriate enrichment for all animals in care.
• Put together animal specific diets, ranging from infants to adults ( i.e formulas, carnivore/herbivore/insectivore diets).
• Learned how to properly give fluids and tube feed animals such as squirrels, opossums, and birds of prey.
• Assisted wildlife rehab leads with daily tasks.
• Helped volunteers with all variety of tasks, including leading in fluid administration, and ensuring they were comfortable each step of the way.

• Supported staff members in their daily tasks, reducing workload burden by ensuring that common spaces were clean and organized.
• Put together daily diets for all animals in care of the Animal Ambassador team side of the hospital. Also helped put together toys and other forms of enrichment for trainers to use during training periods.
• Kept animal ambassador enclosures cleaned and sanitized.
• Interacted with guests and answered questions regarding different animals and other parts of the exhibits in the museum.
