Work History

Patient Resources Coordinator

CHAS Health
04.2024 - 09.2024
  • My position entailed assisting patients with insurance, food, housing, transportation and other resources they may need. I mostly focused on assisting patients with signing up for WA State insurance coverage. I was trained and certified to use Washington Healthplan Finder in order to assist patients in finding the best insurance coverage for their situation. Due to the resources available I was able to assist patients with obtaining free or low cost transportation, food resources as well as signing up for government resources. During my non-patient facing time I would assist in the call center, taking over 250 calls in a 3 month period.

Front Office

CHAS Health
08.2021 - 04.2024

Once graduating high school, I was accepted to a full time position at Perry St. medical clinic as full time front office employee. The position change came with more responsibilities, and similar job duties. I was assigned most at the front desk, working one on one with patients. Whether it be checking their insurance status, verifying all paperwork was completed, and scrubbing our schedule for both insurance errors or scheduling errors. I also joined our clinics moral committee and assisted with setting up for holiday parties, getting supplies and prizes for company events and budget management. After fully completing my training I was assigned to train two new front desk employees, and subsequentially trained the next 3 employees that came through our clinic for training. During my time at Perry St. I was given several kudos for my work with patients, as well as my dedication to the community. I also received employee of the month in 2023 for my achievements.

Student Clerk

CHAS Health
12.2019 - 08.2021

During my junior and senior year of high school I was accepted into the Student Clerk Program. I was trained to check patients in using EMR systems Athena and NextGen for our dental side. I learned how to correctly bill for insurance, how to verify insurance coverage and what that coverage may look like against the patients treatment plan. I also assisted patients in getting scheduled for next treatment, or referring them to an outside provider that accepts their insurance coverage. Alongside my front desk duties I assisted the rest of the clinic with restocking, cleaning and occasionally escort patients through the clinic back to their room. When all other duties finished, I was able to get on our call center and assist with taking calls, scheduling, answering questions and checking our schedule for errors.
