Admirals Letter for getting a program up to date after taking ownership of the program

The gauge calibration program was an entry level program that was given to new sailors. This program was given to me in a poor state with around 80 percent of the plant parameter indicators being out of calibration. In most cases, these indicators were over due by a year or more.  It was very difficult but the process learned in getting this program up to speed taught me a great deal of ownership and program management. Additional it showed me what I can be physically capable of with very little sleep! I had every indicator calibrated within 5 months and was able to turn over the program to the next person with confidence.
