Responsible for the command and control of the post which consists of 32,000 acres of training area, 26 small arms ranges and hosts three premier training institutions; the 233rd Regiment Regional Training Institute, the National Guard Marksmanship Training Center and the National Guard Professional Education Center. Responsibilities include; Identifying and managing funds to support all support activities on Post, ensuring all ranges and facilities are operational and meets the needs of the user, ensure the on post police and fire departments are properly manned, trained and equipped to perform their duties, conduct meetings with adjacent communities to ensure they understand what the post is, how it operates and why they often experience noise from live fire exercises and manage federal and state funding budgets.

Liaison with active component medical facilities to ensure a transition from active medical care to reserve medical care for all wounded soldiers returning to the Arkansas National Guard from active duty deployments.
Principal manager of all federal funds within the Arkansas National Guard. Manages yearly budget activities to include preparing a budget request for yearly funding to the National Guard Bureau, managing funds once received from National Guard Bureau, ensure funds are dispersed to the appropriate fund sites, ensure funds are spent in accordance with Fiscal Law Guidelines and ensure funds are expended with a 99% expenditure rate. Responsible for developing creative solutions for funding shortfalls to meet the organizations requirements, develop resource sharing plans for inter-agency operations and budget problem solving strategies for supported units.

Ensured orders and instructions were executed in accordance with the commander's policies. Keep the commander informed and represent him during his absence. Of note during this period the battalion mobilized immediately following "911" to perform the Multi-National Forces and Observers (MFO) mission in the Sinai. The mission was performed on time, above standard and with no losses to personnel or equipment.
