Where does being a therapist fit into management? How can my managerial experience help me get this job? I managed a diverse group of people, understanding their needs and motivating and supporting them. Therapy also requires these interpersonal skills. I would work closely with clients, empathize with them, and advise them as a therapist. Effective communication is essential in both roles. I resolved conflicts, listened to employee concerns, and gave feedback as a manager. As a therapist, I would pay close attention to my clients, help them explore their thoughts and emotions, and encourage positive change. Managers and therapists share the ability to create a safe and supportive environment. My management style has created a positive workplace where employees feel valued and respected. As a therapist, I would provide a safe space for clients to express themselves without judgment. Problem-solving skills are needed for both roles. As a manager, I've had to resolve conflicts, manage resources, and make decisions. I would also help clients solve problems and develop coping skills in therapy. Employees would come to me for reassurance and advice whenever they were feeling down, and I would gladly assist them in any way I could. As a result, I became a very trustworthy person, and people would come to me for advice. My entire life, in addition to being a manager, I have assisted over 15 people in overcoming suicidal thoughts, as well as issues related to substance abuse, mental health issues, and eating problems. My dream job has always been to become a therapist. The idea of assisting other people in overcoming their obstacles, making a positive impact on their lives, and supporting them in living day-to-day is something that makes me feel like I've accomplished something. These are just some of the steps I've taken to be a good fit for this job. My next steps will be to get my bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology. In the meantime, I'd like to start working under a therapist to better understand the job and learn more about the requirements for becoming a therapist and changing people's lives.
