• As a Starbucks barista, my job consisted of handling a variety of tasks and delivering top-notch customer service. I will accept orders from patrons at the counter and prepare coffee, tea, and other beverages as requested as well as food. Operating cash registers and credit card machines is another task that I must operate. Overall, I make sure to create a connection to each customer and ensure they feel comfortable at our location, making sure that their experience is almost like a true friend connection when being delivered their drinks. Everything must be done in a timely manner especially during peak hours, this means drinks must be fluidly made and sent out in a manner called “sequencing”. If I am put on the customer support role during my shift, my job is to provide restocks, rebrew coffee after 30 minutes (10 when at peak), clean the bathrooms, clean the back and make backups for ingredients. I will also flex between stations such as the register, cold bar, hot bar and the warming food station when it is needed.

The East Meadow School District offers a summer school program to students who have had trouble passing their classes and would like to attend summer school to relearn the subject and pass with a better grade. There are 3 paid interns that are chosen out of the applicants and they are usually incoming seniors in the business program. Although my application was accepted although I was an incoming Junior and not taking business courses due to my eagerness and extracurriculars I had participated in sophomore year. The job itself consisted of taking attendance in all the classes, providing copies for the classrooms, sending messages and supplies needed to teachers and just providing aid to the staff when needed. After my last day I stayed working with paid overtime to help regulate the regents retake days after the summer school program itself ended and also worked two days overtime for cleanup to return summer school materials to their designated areas in the basement and prepare for the next school year.
