My Sister was a special needs adult. In 2001 she was accepted into the Medicaid Waiver Program. After approximately 100 caregivers came into our home to work on behalf of my sister and after experiencing numerous problems, I became my Sister's caregiver. As a family member I was paid for 30 hours a week, but since I took care of my sister and provided all of her needs it put an end to all those people coming into our home.
My father died in 2000, leaving my mother at the time who was 87, to care for my sister alone. I came back from California in 2000 and began to assist my mother and sister. My mother passed in August of 2022 at 108 and my sister passed in February of 2023.
I attended I. U. Bloomington, IN. I took various classed that I had an interest in education and obtained my A.A. In the next year I enlisted in the Navy.
