Those are some shorter examples of my roles at home depot but I would like to expand upon these
I have worked at home depot for almost 2 years now and have gained a lot of experience in terms of warehouse work, hands-on labor, and of course customer service. I started in the garden department where I would drive machines for things like pavers and mulch or removing pallets of overstock from inside and outside the store. This department was also very heavy in customer interactions as the garden department is in charge of holidays such as halloween amd christmas. Throughout my time there I became very efficient at customer service and at selling our products. Things like grills, chainsaws, mowers and other outside related products. During that time I learned alot and become well versed in other topics like electrical and flooring. I am in lumber now where I still drive but now its things like lumber and concrete. Switching to lumber has helped me become knowledgeable in hardware and plumbing topics. I am continuing to expand my knowledge of overall craftsmanship and hands on experience and plan to do so.
My position consisted of aiding customers with whatever they needed and working in the warehouse. I would help load customers items if they need help and I help direct in the direction they are looking for. Another big part of my job is selling our merchandise to customers and making it more marketable. I also work in the warehouse and move furniture and other heavy items, aswell as do pickups and deliveries on a box truck where I have to interact with customers and help move whatever they need. If Im not in the warehouse, im in the front of the store helping customers and answering questions to the best of my ability.
