From the year 2013 through to 2023, I participated and excelled in the "Marching Arts"; Activities that utilize music and movement.
I participated in the High School marching band for six years (three at Holy Cross and three at Brother Martin), being moved into the high school marching band at Holy Cross during my seventh-grade year. I also personally decided to switch high schools to pursue an elevated level of music education which Brother Martin provided.
During my sophomore year of high school (first year at Brother Martin), I auditioned for my first independent winter drumline affiliated with WGI and made it on the tenor line. This began a seven-year career of touring the country every year for months on end all while playing quads specifically. I first performed with Elite Independent indoor percussion during the winter of 2016-2017, and I then went on tour with the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps that summer affiliated with DCI. I competed in the DCI I&E competition on quads that summer, and won second place at the age of 16.
I then stuck to DCI for a while and made my first world-class Drum Corps, the Phantom Regiment, in 2018. This marked my first time competing with the top 12 of DCI, allowing me to perform in front of 30,000 fans. I then earned a section leader position for the quad line with the Blue Stars in 2019, and I once again competed in the DCI I&E competition, earning third place this time.
COVID struck in 2020 putting a hiatus on physical activity with DCI, so I participated in the "Virtual Drum and Bugle Corps" that summer, which was an exceptionally neat experience. Afterward, I marched with the Bluecoats during the summer of 2021 and finally won first place in the DCI I&E competition. I formally aged out of DCI as the section leader for the Blue Devils quad line in 2022; with the corps winning first place overall in front of 35,000 fans.
I then decided to take a year off of school at LSU so I could pursue performing with a world-class WGI indoor drumline. I moved up to Dayton, Ohio during the winter of 2022-2023 to age out of indoor percussion with Rhythm X, and we ended up earning third place at the WGI World Championships.
