  • Keep Home Office informed on status of community. Participate in weekly conference calls with supervisors and other resident managers.
  • Census. Maintain maximum occupancy level at all times. Allocate time each week to work with the Marketing Director to strategize reaching occupancy goals which includes community visits, daily follow-up on all direct inquiries, and giving tours. This may include preparation of vacant apartments as a part of marketing duties, including cleaning and painting.
  • Budget. Follow the approved operating budget.
  • Accounting. Accurately record revenue and expenses as required by the RLC accounting department and submit required reports on time.
  • Community Relations. Interact successfully with community groups and organizations that may provide beneficial services to residents.
  • Resident Satisfaction. Assess individual well-being of residents on a daily basis and respond appropriately to their needs through personal interaction, including: tending to resident requests, and maintaining a presence in the dining room during meal times to inter-act with residents and insure a smooth operation of the dining experience.
  • Emergency Response. Respond to emergency calls from residents and take appropriate action. Respond to any call that may occur at any time of the day or night, subject to established schedules.
  • Personnel. Develop and maintain a staff that provides quality services that insure resident satisfaction. Functions include hiring and evaluating community employees, development of an on-going and continuous training program, supervision, and complete record keeping.
  • Food Service. Supervise the Food Service Manager in the budgeting, inventory, preparation and serving of attractive, appetizing, and balanced meals according to RLC guidelines. The maintenance of clean, sanitary, and attractive kitchen and dining facilities shall be a priority.
  • Supervise the Dining Room Supervisor to maintain outstanding and consistent service in all dining areas of the community.
  • Resident Enrichment. Initiate, support, encourage, and maintain a resident personal enrichment program through activities that involve residents’ talents, knowledge, interests, and skills. Such programs are to be in compliance with RLC guidelines and philosophy.
  • Housekeeping. Supervise the housekeeping staff in the cleaning of residents’ apartments and common areas, and oversee the inventory of supplies.
  • Maintenance. Ensure that day-to-day building and grounds maintenance is adequately addressed and maintenance problems that cannot be resolved are referred to Home Office in a timely manner. This may include performing maintenance duties and general upkeep of the building.
  • Transportation. Meet the daily transportation needs of residents which includes obtaining the correct state licensing to safely operate community bus.
  • Community Operation. Ensure the daily continuation of the business, up to and including, personally filling in for any absent staff member. Responsible for maintaining normal business hours for the community.

Accomplishments

  • Achieved one hundred percent occupancy through effectively helping with marketing strategies, tours, and follow through. This was achieved for the first time since the community opened nine years ago along with our senior living consultant (sales) We currently have a waitlist.
  • Documented and resolved fine dining issues which led to a new culinary team, themed dining events with entertainment. Used these experiences for marketing events as well. Which helped fill our building.
  • Supervised focus team of 5 staff members, as well as a full culinary department, housekeeping, maintenance and concierge team. Total number of employees 35-38.
